{"id":1769,"date":"2015-07-30T13:01:15","date_gmt":"2015-07-30T03:01:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/modernheritage.com.au\/mhm\/?p=1769"},"modified":"2015-07-31T14:06:52","modified_gmt":"2015-07-31T04:06:52","slug":"sydney-harbour-control-tower-at-barangaroo-to-be-demolished","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/modernheritage.com.au\/mhm\/sydney-harbour-control-tower-at-barangaroo-to-be-demolished\/","title":{"rendered":"Sydney Harbour Control Tower at Barangaroo to be demolished"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saving our industrial heritage is difficult.\u00a0 While don&#8217;t always agree with this view, we understand\u00a0that the general public often consider these items to be eyesores.\u00a0\u00a0Any decision to retain them as heritage items\u00a0can become\u00a0especially complicated when they are located in significant locations.\u00a0 This week the NSW\u00a0State Government has given approval for the Sydney Harbour Control Tower at Barangaroo to be demolished.\u00a0The NSW Heritage Council recommended that it be listed on the state heritage register, affording it the highest level of protection.
