State Listed Maisonette Flat in The Rocks
This State Heritage listed maisonette forms part of an important example of Federation purpose built public housing. Built by the State as model housing for workers, it is considered a benchmark in the development of public housing and residential flat development in Australia. We were brought in to provide all aspects of heritage consulting and design services for an integrated development application. Our aim was to satisfy the brief to have a fresh contemporary feel whilst remaining sympathetic to its austere aesthetic as well as uphold the strict heritage parameters of a state listed home. Scope of works included kitchen, bathrooms, all joinery and outdoor terrace. We took it through to approval and oversaw the subsequent conservation works.
