NSW Heritage Council ‘disappointed’ in Sirius building’s impending destruction
The NSW State Government has decided to reject a unanimous recommendation by the NSW Heritage Council to list The Rocks’ Sirius building on the state’s heritage register – a decision that means the building will almost certainly be demolished. We are ‘disappointed’ too, but never surprised. The Brutalist Style is not well understood in Australia and the bulding is definitely polarising, but, lets face it, it always comes down to money!
