Quarry Master’s Cottage c1915
Historically and socially significant to its area, this stone cottage is nestled in its garden setting, evocative of the quarry that it once inhabited. The original part of the house is built with sandstone, most likely quarried within the vicinity. In addition, its form and materials, although surrounded by later additions, reflect a way of life that is part of the history of the area.
MHM were engaged to help develop a remedial works plan. And to guide design decisions that were complementary to the locally listed property. The timeline was tight but a wonderful team of contractors was able to be assembled and deliver. We helped with design advice including a brief to transform a walk-in-robe in a quick turn around. Alongside more practical coordination of essential trades for remedial works.
